Paper in 3D

Paper in 3D shows the way I develop a two-dimensional papercut into a three-dimensional shape. I am interested in the flexibility of cut paper, the manner in which the paper is changed by cutting into it and the possibilities of this altered material. I make paper objects by cutting with a scalpel knife but also by folding, crumpling, crushing, layering or I use papier-mache techniques. Paper comes in infinite textures, weights and colours and I choose carefully depending on the nature of the project and the techniques I’m going to apply.
