With over 20 years combined experience working in paper, Jessica Palmer and Liberty Wright decided to join forces to create ‘Paper Tailors’ – A team specialising in the art of paper garments for display, installations, TV and photoshoots.
Liberty began her career with renowned artist Rob Ryan where she stayed for many years, honing her skills as a designer and paper crafter. She has worked on many high-profile projects with the likes of Penguin Random House, Rizzoli New York, Stylist magazine, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Charleston Farmhouse and the V&A.
After a career as a BBC Producer, Jessica trained as an illustrator, doing an MA in Illustration at Kingston Uni. Since then she has been making paper art – paper cuts, collages and 3D paper sculptures with clients including Pixar Disney, Burberry, The New Craftsmen, the Holburne in Bath and the Tudor House Museum. She also works as an illustrator.
Liberty and Jessica love it when someone is looking for something really different, but they’re not sure what it is. They work through different possibilities with them until they hit the sweet spot.
Jessica is an artist with a special interest in historically-inspired paper apparel. And she has a passion for paper as a medium. “I love it when someone is looking for something really different, but they’re not sure what it is. We work through different possibilities with them until we hit the sweet spot.”
